SRP Crosscut Canal

Safe Kids Maricopa County and SRP remind you to stay safe around canals.

November is a great time for outdoor activities in Arizona. Whether its family outings or another day of daily exercise, Safe Kids Maricopa County wants you and your families to stay safe.

If you are going to walk, jog or bike along the canals, be sure you know how to do so safely. Canals can be very dangerous, so please follow these tips from SRP Safety Connection™:

  • Keep a safe distance from the edge of the canals and the automated equipment at water delivery gates.
  • Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing and tubing are not allowed in the canals.
  • Never jump in to rescue pets or objects such as toys. Call 911 for help.
